· Every one of their biggest hits -- "Uptown Festival (Part 1)," "The Second Time Around," "Make That Move," "A Night to Remember," "Dead Giveaway," "Dancing in the Sheets," "Games" -- are present, in their best-known mixes. Some dedicated fans might notice that a song or two is missing, but all the biggest best singles are here, making it a very entertaining compilation ideal for casual and 7/10(1).
I have many Shalamar compilations and this is the best single disc collection. It has the long versions of every significant hit in their career. Solar/ Sound Of Los Angeles Records (their original label) did excellent 12" remixes on almost every single that Shalamar released, many that expanded on the single or album versions quite nicely /5(87).
"Dancing in the Sheets" is a song written by Bill Wolfer and Dean Pitchford and recorded by American R&B group Shalamar. It was featured on the chart-topping soundtrack album of the motion picture Footloose and was also the first single from their album Heartbreak, featuring the new line-up of Howard Hewett, Delisa Davis and Micki synth melody on the song is similar in structure.
Initially dismissed as a Soul Train phenomenon, Shalamar racked up hit after hit; still, the talk didn't squelch until Watley and Hewitt left and became stars in their own right. This comprehensive CD includes disco remixes of "Night to Remember," "Take That to the Bank," and "There It Is." A must for Shalamar fans, as it can't get much better.
